Hands-on, inquiry based science

The Science Resource Center (SRC), established in 2002, provides ready-to-use, hands-on, inquiry-based science kits for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. It serves dozens of schools in Southeast Washington.

The SRC also provides ongoing professional development for teachers as they work to incorporate physical, life science and earth and space kits into their classrooms.

Money from Battelle Legacy Grants, Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), and Washington State Leadership & Assistance for Science Education Reform (LASER) participating districts supports the operation of the SRC, which is based at the Kennewick School District's Administration Center at 1000 W. Fourth Ave.
