Purpose: 1. Create a Power Point slide show that outlines the destinations traveled within the continental United States.

Materials: Reference material, materials for post board, color pencils or markers, pictures, and most importantly — creativity.

Note: You must use no less than 5 references.

Procedures:

1. Research your travel destinations – you’ll need to choose three destinations in your travel plan. You’ll need to find out the following information.

  • The total miles traveled from Kennewick to destination #1 to destination #2 to destination #3 and back to Kennewick. (Round trip miles from Kennewick)
  • Each location you’ll need to accommodations (Hotel)
  • The cost of Hotel at each stop along the trip.
  • The cost of entertainment at each location.

Guidelines:

  • Spending limit of $2,500.
  • Travel at least 3,000 miles or more.
  • Car gets 32 mpg (miles per gallon)
  • Average price for gas is $2.75 per gallon.
  • Average travel speed on trip is 70 mph and you can travel 12 hrs per day.

You need to have the following items on the poster board:

  • Itinerary – time of departure each day, time of arrival at final location for the day, and name and address of Hotel you stayed at each night.
  • Maps of entire trip
  • 20 pictures of vacation
  • Total expenditures of trip – which include: gas, food, entertainment, and miscellaneous.

2. Write a one page journal entry describing your trip – include entertainment and creative ideas about an m hypothetical trip.

Itinerary example
Day 1: Leave Kennewick, WA at 7:00 a.m.; arrive in Sacramento, CA at 6:30 p.m.; stayed at the Best Western Inn (downtown location).

Day 2: Stayed in same location.

Day 3: Leave Sacramento, CA at 7:00 a.m.; arrive in Los Angeles, CA at 1:30 p.m.; stayed at the Howard Johnson Inn (Airport location).
