Learn more about Kennewick High School Air Force JROTC Program

Parents of students interested in taking an Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) class at Kennewick High School are invited to an informational meeting on March 8.

The 6 p.m. meeting will be in Room 801 at Kennewick High. Program instructors will talk about the program's goals, which include developing leadership, discipline, self-confidence and teamwork skills in students. In addition to academic coursework, JROTC offers after-school activities such as competitive drill, color guard, physical fitness, cybersecurity, and rifle marksmanship.

The program is free and open to all students living in the Tri-Cities. Those attending Kamiakin and Southridge high schools will be provided transportation to attend the one-period 7th hour class. Students may sign up for the program with their school counselor or by contacting Kennewick High School.

Enrollment does not include an obligation to serve in the military.
