PSAs feature high school graduate, teacher and principal

You may recognize some familiar faces featured in this year’s United Way Attendance Matters public service announcements.

Southridge High School Principal Steve Biehn, former student Alyssa and Park Middle School teacher Natalie Maiuri are featured in the new videos that promote school attendance.

United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties launched the Attendance Matters campaign last week with public service announcements airing on local television stations and posters in all of the schools.

Why Attendance Matters

  • When students attend school, they are more likely to stay in school and graduate.
  • When students attend school, they are more engaged in school, feel better about themselves and are less likely to be depressed.
  • When student absences are reduced, students receive more instructional hours and learn more.
