Celebrating Our Seniors: Brandon Harbo

Senior Brandon Harbo from Kennewick didn't plan to attend Delta High School. It was only after his mom included his name in the lottery to select students for the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) focused high school, he decided to give it a try. Four years later, he says he made the right choice.

"The teachers definitely know who you are and how you learn," he says of the school's tight-knit learning environment. "I know every student in my class."

The school provided Brandon various opportunities, such as access to a paid internship with Washington River Protection Solutions, and he came to rely on the close friends he built at the school during tough times. He also had the freedom to pursue his love of theater, performing in productions with The Academy of Children's Theatre, The Richland Players and other groups.

Brandon will head to WSU Tri-Cities this fall to start work on a degree in business before he heads to the Pullman campus to finish. That will give him the opportunity to take the stage a few more times with local theater groups.
