Celebrating Our Seniors: Cyle DeLeon

The car crash that broke Kamiakin High School senior Cyle DeLeon's arm came just after he competed at the state wrestling tournament in the spring of 2015 and was projected to be a contender the following season.

Cyle's doctors told him he could be healed just in time for his junior season but they warned him to do no physical therapy, limiting his ability to be prepared to take the mat.

He persevered, though, ending up as an alternate to the state tournament as a junior. This year Cyle did even better, coming in eighth in the state for his weight class. He's signed a letter of intent to wrestle at North Idaho College, where he plans to study neuropsychology or journalism.

"To be honest, I don't know how I came back from it," Cyle says. "I just knew I couldn't stop."
