Celebrating Our Seniors: Jesse Patheal

Graduation, much less graduating early, was far from the mind of junior Jesse Patheal a few years ago. He missed a lot of classes in middle school, leading to his placement in a district intervention program.

Jesse says that's where he came into contact with teachers who connected with and motivated him to finish school so he could be successful in the future.

He enrolled at Legacy High School and now also attends Tri-Tech Skills Center. Jesse is graduating a year early despite a daily schedule that has him working a part-time job from 4 p.m. to midnight followed by a few hours sleep before he has to be at school by 7 a.m.

"I've worked hard to be where I'm at now," Jesse says.

For the moment, Jesse hopes to line up a new job soon after graduation, ideally one related to his automotive technology studies at Tri-Tech. But long term, he wants to continue studying automotive technology at Columbia Basin College.
