#iamksd: Meet Kamiakin High's Katrina Kutschkau

Katrina Kutschkau, a 1990 Kamiakin High graduate and now a math teacher, returned to the school in 1997 to be a teacher and has never left. She’s also a former college athlete, having played basketball at Yakima Community College and in Scotland while an exchange student from Washington State University.

What do you like best about working at Kennewick School District?

What I love the most about Kennewick school district is the support from both the community and within the district. As a community and a district, we love the kids and always put them first and always strive for excellence in the way we serve our kids.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is the people I work with. I love having people to share ideas with. I am part of a Friday lunch group. This group of teachers just gets together every week and encourages one another. Each one of these teachers inspires me.

What do you like to do outside work?

Outside of work I love spending time with my family. We all love sports. You can usually find us all sitting together at Kamiakin games. I have three sisters that all went to Kamiakin and it has been fun to watch their kids grow up at Kamiakin as well.
