Ridge View is fortunate to have a library filled with a variety of books and materials for our students. The library staff is dedicated to helping students discover the joy of reading and helping them uncover the book just right for their interests.
Accelerated Reader Program
The students at Ridge View participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) program. This program allows a child to choose a library book on his or her reading level, read it and then take a test on the computer. AR books are clearly marked on the spine with a red dot and information about the reading level and number of points that can be earned is marked on the inside of the book cover.
To encourage participation in Accelerated Reader, the teachers and librarian set goals with students and classes. Being a member of the points club, lunch with the principal, pictures on the wall of fame and trophies are just some of the motivators for participating in AR.
