Meet Mrs. Barnes

Mrs. Barnes use to teach Life Skills to the severely mentally and/or physically handicapped but now is enjoying teaching 1st grade. She has a lot of training, patience, and love for her students. Mrs. Barnes came to Canyon View in 1993. Prior to coming to Canyon View, she taught in Pasco and in Spokane. She attended Gonzaga University in Spokane where she received her Bachelor Degree of Education in Special Education with endorsements in regular education, special education, and reading (grades K-12). She now has a master's degree in education. Mrs. Barnes is a member of Kappa Delta P. - a teachers' honor society. She was nominated and attended the National Teacher's Conference in Minneapolis. She also has had an article published in the 1989 Journal of Special Education. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, walking the dog, camping, and swimming.
