Meet Mrs. Slagle

Mrs. Slagle most recently came from Amistad Elementary where she was a reading specialist, math specialist, taught 1^st grade as well as a P.M. kindergarten class over 15 years. In the past she’s taught 4^th grade, 1^st/2^nd combination, 4 year old kindergarten as well as some pre-school. Her family moved to the Tri-Cities from Bremerton 18 years ago. Two of her three children went to Canyon View. They are all grown up, graduating from Washington State University just like she did in 1972. Her elementary education degree was in Speech and Hearing. She later got her Reading Endorsement and went on to get a Masters Degree in Literacy. In the mornings she helps first through third grade students here at Canyon View with their reading skills. In the afternoon her time is devoted to the K-2 kindergarten class. She loves spending time with her family (especially her 2 grandchildren), teaching, reading and sewing.
