Welcome to Room 13! I’m looking forward to a great year! For the past few years we have been rotating kids between the 3rd grade classrooms for reading tutor groups in the morning from 9:00 to 9:35. Afternoon reading groups from 1:00 to 2:00, and Math groups from 2:00 to 3:00. Students and teachers enjoy getting to know everyone. Learning highlights of the 3rd grade are studying the Rainforest, developing a community, Junior Achievement, research, and writing 5 paragraph essays. We also integrate technology into a lot of our lessons. Important Assessments in the 3rd grade are the Functional Level Test, ITBS, and the WASL. We work hard all year to meet the standards in these assessments. Parent support at home is vital to each students success.
