Desert Hills SAVE Club to Take Anti-Violence Message to the Streets (Literally)!
KENNEWICK, WASHINGTON:
WHO: Students in the Desert Hills SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere)
Club
WHAT: Will be spending grant money to advertise their anti-violence message
on the side of a Ben Franklin Transit bus
WHEN: Throughout March
WHERE: Throughout Kennewick
WHY: Students in the SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) Club at Desert Hills Middle School were recently awarded a $1000 grant to help them spread their anti-violence message throughout their school and the community. The students have decided that one of the best ways to get their word out is to do some advertising.
So, the kids have decided to purchase a panel on the side of a Ben Franklin Transit bus, where they will place their SAVE logo. The students are hoping that folks will see the bus (which is Route 48) and their logo, and will want to know more about their program and projects. The advertisement will be on the bus for about a month.
As a way for the SAVE Club to see first hand how their advertising is working, the students will take a ride on Route 48 on Thursday, March 15, beginning at 11:30 a.m. The students will catch the bus at Taft and 10th Street at about 11:30, and will ride the bus for its entire route through town. This way, the SAVE club will get to see where the bus stops are, and will also have the opportunity to talk with people who ride the bus about their club.
