MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENTS
FOR MISSED FITNESS DAYS
WHEN YOU MISS ONE OR MORE DAYS OF CLASS YOU WILL NEED TO DO A MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENT FOR EACH CLASS YOU MISS. THESE ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE ONE WEEK FROM THE DAY YOU RETURN. IF YOU WERE PRE-EXCUSED, SUSPENDED, OR EXPELLED THE WORK IS DUE THE DAY YOU RETURN. THE INSTRUCTOR MAY OR MAY NOT REMIND YOU ABOUT THE ASSIGNMENTS, THE STUDENT WILL HAVE TO BE RESPONSIBLE TO GET THE WORK IN ON TIME. PICK ONE OF FOLLOWING CHOICES FOR EACH CLASS MISSED. MORE THAN ONE ASSIGNMENT MUST BE RECORDED ON A SHEET (8.5”-11”) OF PAPER. PLEASE DON’T USE THE BACK OF THE SHEET AND IF HANDWRITTEN IT MUST BE EASILY READABLE. IF AT ANY TIME YOU HAVE A QUESTION ASK YOUR INSTRUCTOR, NOT SOMEONE ELSE IN THE CLASS.
- PICK A FITNESS ACTIVITY OF YOUR CHOICE AND WORK OUT FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES. INCLUDE A 5-MINUTE WARM-UP AND A 5-MINUTE COOL DOWN. ON A SHEET OF PAPER WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU DID. INCLUDE NAME, PERIOD, DATE DONE, AMOUNT OF TIME, AND HEART RATES (BEGINNING, ENDING, AND AFTER COOL DOWN). BE SURE TO GET A PARENT OR GUARDIAN TO SIGN THE SHEET OF PAPER. EACH ACTIVITY MUST BE DONE ON A SEPARATE DAY. (60 MINUTES DOES NOT COUNT AS 2 DAYS)
- READ AN ARTICLE ON HEALTH OR FITNESS AND WRITE A MINIMUM 15 LINE SYNOPSIS OF THAT ARTICLE. YOU MAY USE MAGAZINES, NEWSPAPERS, OR THE INTERNET. ATTACH THE ARTICLE OR A COPY TO THE SYNOPSIS. THIS MUST BE TYPED. USE SIZE 12 FONT AND 1.5 SPACING BETWEEN LINES. BE SURE TO USE PROPER PUNCTUATION, GRAMMER, SPELLING, ECT.
- IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN A SPORT OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL DAY YOU CAN USE A PRACTICE AS A MAKE-UP ASSIGNMENT. EACH PRACTICE COULD COUNT AS ONE ASSIGNMENT. WRITE OUT THE SPECIFICS OF THE PRACTICE (SPORT, DATE, AMOUNT TIME, DRILLS, and ECT.). HAVE IT SIGNED BY YOUR COACH OR PARENT.
