Mary Opitz has been a teacher at Desert Hills since 1980 when she was hired as one of the Physical Education teachers. Since that time she has taught science, social studies, a connections class and her current assignment of 6 th and 7 th grade health and fitness. Mrs. Opitz also coached softball for 12 years and has coached ‘A’ girls basketball teams since ’80. Mary is the head volleyball coach at Kamiakin High school which she has done for 20 years. When she is not working, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband, Brian and her two sons, Tyler (19) and Nick (16). She also enjoys working in the garden, doing various crafts and adding to her pig collection.
