Hello students and parents! I teach science, math and social studies. The following information is to provide you with an overall idea of what students will be studying in each subject this year.
SCIENCE- The Kennewick School District has purchased a set of science kits to be used with students in the K-8 grades. Our kit is titled Catastrophic Events and covers concepts related to weather, earthquakes and volcanoes.
Students are introduced to a new concept, will often brainstorm and discuss with other students what they know, perform a lab, then reflect and discuss what they learned.
MATH- Students will review basic operations with decimals and fractions; continue their mastery of measurement and geometric skills; continue working algebraic equations; problem solving and writing to communicate.
SOCIAL STUDIES- Students will study ideas and history from the ancient civilizations such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, Rome and Greece.
