Welcome Friends

Highlands Middle School Library Media Center is neither walls nor shelves nor even the books that stand in rows. This library is the wisdom of the universe captured and arranged for you. The library contains some 14,000 books split between fiction and nonfiction. Adjacent to the library is the research computer lab which houses thirty-five computers with internet access.
Mr. Roberts is our Library Media Teacher. He motivates us to read and makes the library an inviting place to enjoy. Here he is wearing his payday shirt and teaching about coping skills and realistic fiction. He wears a different Marvel comic shirt on the last day of each month because it reminds him that he is a super hero to all of his students and he can now go buy groceries. He has been a teacher at Highlands Middle School since 1989. Before teaching, he worked for the Boeing Airplane Company as a Manufacturing Engineer and served a tour in the Coast Guard as an Aviation Electronic Technician flying around the Great Lakes in an HU-16E Albatross.
Mrs. Bond is our Library Secretary. She adds life and spice to our library. She is always happy and excited to help us with a smile. She has worked for the Kennewick School District for many years and has had many different experiences. She started out as an elementary library secretary, then moved onto being Highlands ASB secretary and now she feels right at home back in the library helping Mr. Roberts help us.
