Introduction
You are to use several tools and techniques in Fireworks to create a graphic montage. Examples of the techniques are: Retouching, Masking, Fading, Blending, Patching, Smudging, and Color Correction.
What's a Montage?
A photomontage is a single pictorial composition made by superimposing two or more picture elements. In real world examples, source material can include cutouts from magazines, newspapers, and other ingredients that enhance and extend the meaning of the original image. Photomontage as screen art is mainly focused on photographic images.
Assignment
There are two parts to this assignment:
Part 1
- Complete the tutorial provided at projectseven.com (see link below)
Part 2
- Use graphics and photos created by you in Web Design or your own photos scanned from home. You may also use photos/graphics from the web (give credit)
- The tutorial montage final product should be a png file that is 1600 px W X 1200 px H @ 300 DPI.
- Your montage final product should be a png file that is 12 " W X 9 " H (3600 px W X 2700 px H) @ 300 DPI for printing a 12" X 9" copy for framing.
- Create a web page for your assignment site and include both montages optimized to 300 px (W) X 225 px (H). Each of these images should be linked to a larger image which is 800 px (W) X 600 px (H).
NOTE: Over the years students tend to wonder, Why?!?" regarding the sizes. The why is; we will post the results of the best montages on a poster board for display.
