Student health services at Kamiakin are managed by school nurse, Ruth Mineke, RN BSN, MEd. Some important things for you to know:
Medications: If your child needs to take medication at school, you may pick up a medication form in the school office or download one from the internet. ( Make a link here to the correct form). Medication can not be given without a completed Medication At School form signed by both the parent and the doctor.
Life-threatening health conditions: Washington State law (SHB 2834) mandates that students with life-threatening health conditions (where the condition would put the child in danger of death during the school day) have medication/or treatment orders and a nursing plan in place at school. This includes students with conditions such as severe bee sting or food allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, and certain heart conditions. The necessary forms are available from your nurse in the main office.
