Mrs. Barney enjoys reading, computers, and spending time with her family. She and her husband have three children, two sons and a daughter.

Her favorite book as a child was Go, Dog, Go! Her favorite part is the big party in the top of the tree.

Her goals for her students include wanting them to really love reading, and for them to read to learn.
