Legacy Online (Off Campus Learning)
Policy and Procedures
Academic Integrity
Legacy Online requires that all academic work be solely the product of the student. The student assumes responsibility for maintaining honesty for all work submitted for credit.
The following examples will not be tolerated:
- Cheating: The use of anything other than your own handwritten notes during a test is considered cheating.
- Fabrication: The falsification or invention of any information or citation in an assignment.
- Plagiarism: Claiming written work created by someone else as your own. When writing essays for class, all information that is not your own needs to be properly credited to the author.
Any violation of academic honesty is a serious offense and is therefore subject to an appropriate penalty, which may include a failing grade for the course.
Participation
Legacy Online requires weekly personal contact with each of your teachers. If for some reason you cannot come in personally, this contact can be done via email, phone, or personal visit. Without weekly communication we have found that students are not successful.
Each class includes written tests and assignments that will need to be emailed, faxed, or hand delivered. It is not possible to pass your course without completing these assignments. It is also impractical to finish these assignments at the end of the course because the information is not fresh in your mind. It is our policy that if you skip these tests or assignments you will have two weeks to turn them in or they will be turned to zeroes in the grade book.
