Speech and Language Therepy
I am the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at Cascade. Speech-language therapy is one of the services provided through the Special Services Department. I am able to evaluate children to determine if they have a disability in the area of communication. If a student is found eligible for services, and is in need of specially designed instruction, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) will be developed by myself, parents, teachers and other pertinent staff. The IEP outlines goals and objectives for the student to work on. Speech-language therapy may target articulation skills (the sounds of speech), language disorders and delays (the content and use of words to communicate), and less frequently, fluency and vocal quality. Individual or group therapy sessions typically occur 1 or 2 times per week.
