MCP New Family Orientation
Mid-Columbia Partnership (MCP) will be having MCP New Family Orientation twice a month. If you are interesting in finding out more about Mid-Columbia Partnership, please call to register. 222-5036. Our first New Family Orientation will be August 19th 9:00-10:45. Please call the office to register. If you missed out first orientation, we have a second one on August 25th at 1:00 - 2:30pm. Please call to register.

Basic Training I - August 23rd at 9:00 (Training for new families)
Basic Training II - September 7th at 9:00 (Continued training for new families)
Back to School Night - September 2nd 5:00 - 7:00 pm
First day for K-8 classes - September 13th, 14th, 16th
First days of MCP High School classes - August 30th and Sept 3rd

Mid-Columbia Parent Partnership (MCP) is sponsored by Kennewick School District. We work together with home-schooling families in the Tri-Cities. A variety of enrollment options help meet the needs and desires of our families. Options range from full-time Alternative Learning Experiences to part-time enrollment for home-schoolers wanting supplemental classes. Classes are provided onsite at MCP and at off-site community learning centers. All of our enrollment options are explained in more detail in our Family Handbook.
In 2003 several home-schooling families cooperated with district personnel to create MCP. Our Coordinator, Kelly Anderson, has taught elementary classes in the Tri-Cities and in Portland, and home-schooled for 6 years. Her education, experience, and dedication to home-schooling has been instrumental in the program's growth. We have additional staff and teachers who also home-school their children and participate in the program.
At MCP we rely on our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) for valuable insights and input on what home-schooling families need and how we can better serve our students. PAC meets monthly to discuss important program issues including how to encourage growth and parent involvement, improving the education of our children, and providing needed services and support to our families. All interested parents are encouraged to come to the meetings.
