Dance Chaperones needed for our Dance/Social on Thursday March 18th 
 
If you've never been at one of our Highlands M.S. Dance/Socials you've really missed out!  Come join the fun and Chaperone this Thursday, March 18th after school for the Dance/Social.  These events are  fun, safe, and positive opportunities for our students to get together and enjoy the afternoon.  We have games, music, food and yes....dancing, for all the students to enjoy.  We just need you're help to make it all run smoothly.  Come chaperone an event at Highlands and help make our school not only a great place to learn but a great place to be!
Great Job Highlands Orchestra! 
Our talented Orchestra earned a Superior at festival this year.  A Superior means that the group performed above the expected performance level for groups in their grade category.  We are proud of our Highlands Orchestra!
 
Look out for our "Watch Dogs"!
At Highlands Middle School we have an awesome group of men that work with our students.  They are the "Watch Dogs" and they are our own students fathers who have taken a day to come in and help around the school.  If you would like to be a "Watch Dog" just call the office and let us know when you can join us.  It's great to have Dads who are willing to help out even when they're so busy in their working lives.

Our Hero!  Mr. Luvaas!
We have a real hero from Highlands Middle School.  When called to duty, Mr. Lauren Luvaas did his job with an amazing vigour and enthusiasm we can all learn to appreciate.  Mr. Luvaas is now overseas with his unit for a second tour of duty.  We at Highlands Middle School wish Captain Luvaas a very Happy Birthday and look forward to his return!
He was our Janitor, now he's our Hero. Happy Birthday Captain Luvaas!!!

Donate a lonely instrument today!
Do you have a lonely instrument sitting in a corner or closet in your home.  DON'T let it be alone.  That's just cruel.  Instead, donate it to the Highlands music program so it will provide the beautiful music it was meant to make.  Just leave it at the office and we'll take care of the rest.
