Activities
Highlands PTO will be hosting the Valentines Day Social/Winter Carnival Fundraiser on Friday, February 12th, from 2:30 until 6:00 pm. The event will begin after school with a Valentines Day Social from 2:30 until 4:00. Then the carnival begins! Families are invited and encouraged to bring younger siblings (we have special things planned for them) and join us after school at 4:00 pm. There are many fun things planned, like a blind maze, a crazy scooter race, a ring-toss for soda, jeopardy, face painting, a cake walk, and arm-wrestling with the principals. There will also be a silent auction with awesome prizes donated from some of our local businesses. We will be selling pizza and a veverage for dinner, popcorn, and many other concessions. You won't want to miss this fun family event!

Look out for our "Watch Dogs"!
At Highlands Middle School we have an awesome group of men that work with our students. They are the "Watch Dogs" and they are our own students fathers who have taken a day to come in and help around the school. If you would like to be a "Watch Dog" just call the office and let us know when you can join us. It's great to have Dads who are willing to help out even when they're so busy in their working lives.

Our Hero! Mr. Luvaas!
We have a real hero from Highlands Middle School. When called to duty, Mr. Lauren Luvaas did his job with an amazing vigour and enthusiasm we can all learn to appreciate. Mr. Luvaas is now overseas with his unit for a second tour of duty. We at Highlands Middle School wish Captain Luvaas a very Happy Birthday and look forward to his return!

Do you have a lonely instrument sitting in a corner or closet in your home. DON'T let it be alone. That's just cruel. Instead, donate it to the Highlands music program so it will provide the beautiful music it was meant to make. Just leave it at the office and we'll take care of the rest.
