Greg Sambrano, Head Coach: Greg brings a wealth of soccer coaching and playing experience to the Suns Soccer Program. He has coached for over 20 years and played for over 35 years. Coach Sambrano is entering his fifth year at Southridge. Greg has his USSF National “C” Coaching License and has coached Central Washington University, Yakima Reds, ODP, and Selah High School. He is also a current trainer for the Blue Mountain Soccer Club. While at Southridge, he has compiled a record of 45 wins and 23 losses. Greg’s teams have finished 3rd or better and have been in the playoffs all four years. The 2005 team finished in second and played for the school’s first District Championship while last year’s team made it to the State Tournament for the first time in school history. While under Greg’s tutelage, Southridge has had 11 First Team All-League Players, numerous Second Team and Honorable Mention Players, three First Team All-State Players, one Second and one Honorable Mention. The Suns have also landed several First and Second Team Players on the Tri-City Herald All-Area Team. The Suns look to build on their success this year with a strong group of returning players along with an exceptional class of incoming freshman. “I have truly been blessed to work with tremendous kids, coaching staff and administrative staff.” |

Brian Klos, Asst. Coach: This will be his third season helping out the team. This amazing individual helps out in practices, maintains the lines on the field, helps out with fundraising, filming the games, the media guide, maintaining the website and with whatever else the team needs. Outside of soccer, Mr. Klos is a math teacher at Southridge High School. He is noted as saying, "if loving math is wrong, then I don't want to be right." To ensure that he doesn't become a dull and boring math teacher, he infuses Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and any other movie trivia as well as music into his teaching. |

Nicole Hatcher, Asst. Coach: Arguably the strongest of the three coaches, this will be her 2nd season with the team. She does a lot of the summer conditioning and working with the team in the weight room. She will be in charge of leading the development of the JV program for this upcoming year. If there were only two words that could describe the job she does, it would be "simply amazing." Ms. Hatcher is also a math teacher, but at Hanford High School. It's okay that she teaches at another school because we know that deep down, her heart will always belong to SHS. |

She is a former Washington State University Track and Field Athlete and Team Captain for W.S.U. While at Washington State she specialized in the horizontal jumps and was a finalist at the Pac-10 Championships in both. Coach Smith has continued to compete as a Masters athlete and was named the 2005 USA Track and Field Master’s National Female Field Event Athlete. She holds several records in the jumps for the Inland Northwest for Track and Field. Coach Smith enjoys working with the soccer team improving their speed, strength and agility. |
| Anne Wendt, EFT Performance Coach: Anne has been coaching athletes for the last 14 years. In that time she has coached Volleyball, Tennis, Basketball and Softball teams at various levels. While in high school herself she was a three sport athlete who played on teams that repeatedly were district champions and/or participated at the State finals in Volleyball, Basketball and Softball. Currently she is an art teacher at SHS, coaches SHS Girls JV Tennis and owns a peak performance business called Realign Abundance which provides training with EFT. EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique and is an amazing tool that promotes growth in the areas of communication, stress, anxiety, physical performance and goal setting. The SHS soccer program began using Anne as an EFT Performance coach last year which helped to enable a state birth, the first in the history of Southridge Girls Soccer.
