TOP RETURNING SENIORS – CO-ED

 

 

Tyson Bjazevich -  Tyson is looking forward to an outstanding senior year.  He is one of the top returning sprinters for the team and will see some great improvements this year.

 

Ainsley Bourque -  Ainsley has been a key runner for the Suns for three seasons, and as a coaching staff we are grateful for her dedication.  She is one of the best distance runners to have gone through the program and is ranked #8 on the all-time list in the 3200 meters.

 

Ken Dickman -  Ken is #5 on the all-time javelin list and is dangerously close to the #2 spot.  Ken has been training since the beginning of the school year for his final year in track.  In 2006, he was a Regional qualifier in the javelin.  He is one of the top throwers in the league and has a great chance of qualifying for state this year.

 

Justin Fowers -  Justin has made the top 10 list in the shot put with a toss of 42 feet, and his efforts, combined with teammates Jeremy Salinas and Josh Antonson will be a real force this spring.  Justin is a positive team player and an excellent leader.

 

David Hibbard -  David returns as the top 400 meter runner on the team, and is one of the quickest in the 200 meters.  His contributions will be crucial to team success this year in the sprints and relays.

 

Alex Larmey -  Alex Larmey will help lead the distance program this year as he boasts the fastest time in the 3200 meters and will soon dip under 5 minutes in the 1600.  His hard work and leadership in the distances races are essential to the program’s success.

 

Christina Lee – Christina’s accomplishments are many.  She #3 on the all-time list in the 400 meters, school record holder in the 800 meters with an outstanding time of 2:18, valuable member of the 4x200 and 4x400 relay teams, and Southridge’s first female state competitor for Cross Country.  Her goals include qualifying for state in track this year.

 

Kayln Leonard – Kayln is a tough competitor and her name can be found on the all-time list in the 800 meters with a quality time of 2:33.4.  She runs a mean leg on the 4x400 relay team and has a lot of heart, sometimes running the 400, 800 and 4x400 in one meet.

 

Kristin Lybbert – Another athlete with a lot of heart, Kristin Lybbert has endured four knee surgeries and keeps coming back.  She is a tough competitor, is on the all-time list for the long jump and is also one of the fastest 100 meter runners on the team. 

 

Peter Marshall -  Peter has found true motivation for success this season.  He has trained very diligently all winter, has increased in strength, speed, and explosiveness, and looks to break into the top 10 list in his events.  He returns as the #2 discus thrower on the team, and will prove to be very valuable in the shot as well.

 

Spencer Marrott -  Spencer returns for the 2007 season just shy of the #1 spot in the 400 meters.  He will be a force to be reckoned with in the long sprints and will be an important part of the 4x400 relay. 

 

Jeremy Salinas -  Jeremy is the top returning thrower for the suns in the shot and discus with marks of 48-5 ½ and 122-1 respectively.   Jeremy is one of the top throwers in the league, and should see qualification for Regionals and even state this year.

 

Jeff Scott -  Jeff is a very versatile athlete with the ability to sprint, long jump, and high jump.  He has been training hard and working on both his speed and leaping ability and will be a valuable competitor in the sprints, jumps and relays.

 

Karissa StrebinKarissa is an extremely talented athlete.  After helping her volleyball team qualify for state (for the first time ever in Southridge history) she is ready to focus on track.  Strebin is on the all-time list in the 100 meter hurdles and long jump and is a crucial relay team member for the 4x100 and 4x200.  She should have an outstanding senior year in the sprints, hurdles and jumps.

 

Kristen Tripp -  Kristen Tripp is another shot and discus returnee.  He is a very good leader and is about to explode in these very technical events.  He is always wearing a smile and has a good word for his teammates.

 

Taylor Vorheis -  Taylor is returns as the #1 sprinter on the team with times of 11.6 in the 100 and 23.6 in the 200 from his junior year.  Taylor will lead the team in the sprints and relays this season.

 

Doug Yale -  Doug has focused his senior year on preparing for this season in the javelin.  He has developed into a well-rounded athlete and hopes to compete in throwing, jumping and running events.  Doug is the top returning thrower, just three inches ahead of team mate Ken Dickman.  He was a Regional qualifier last year has his sights set on state.
