Communication

More often than not problems related to stress, motivation, and
concentration may have their roots in one of the following areas:

COMMITMENT:

ATTITUDES:

COMMUNICATION:

1. The willingness to strive for and gain specific goals.

2. Sacrifice, desire, and dedication are the backbones of an individual’s commitment toward success.

3. An individuals desire to reach a goal is directly reflected in how dedicated he is at working toward the goal and what he is willing to sacrifice to achieve it.

4. Establishing realistic short-term and long-term goals is essential to keeping an athlete committed through out the entire practice/week/season/career.

1. Emotions, feelings, thoughts, and actions all reflect an individual’s attitude.

2. Performance on and off the mat is affected by interactions with athletes and coaches.

3. Although being positive is essential, it is more important to develop a realistic attitude.

4. When a problem occurs, like a losing streak, it is necessary to realistically identify the source of the Problem.

1. The final and most important key is communication, the most common barrier that exist between teammates,     athletes and coaches.

2. When these barriers exist, they often result in the development of a variety of problems that have a detrimental effect on athletic performance and team performance.

3. Individuals need to be able to communicate with others either verbally or non-verbally, but, most importantly, they need to be honest and open with themselves when trying to overcome problems that inhibit their performance.

4. The best method to assist athletes at developing proper commitment, attitudes, and communication skills is through proper mental preparation.

5. When a team or individual has practiced not only the physical but also the mental skills needed for     Competition, they will be much better prepared to compete.

6. If the individual or team has taken time to physically and mentally prepare for any situation, there will be a much greater chance for victory when the competition begins.
