Becoming a Competitor

  • When you get on the mat you have to be focused on the task at hand. It’s your match to be won or lost and no one else’s. Some things you just have to take personal.
  • The wrestler who won’t quit will always have a chance of winning the match and on the other hand if you mentally give in you will not have much of a chance of winning.
  • The concept of being or becoming a competitor is an attitude and desire to go out and brawl every time you go out on the mat, no matter whom your wrestling or what may happen during the battle.

  • You have to be a competitive person to become successful in wrestling. The willingness to keep fighting until the match is over even if your losing is critical to your success.

  • If you don’t go out and compete your hardest every single time then your not really giving yourself a fair chance of becoming a successful wrestler or in winning the match.

  • Don’t take practice for granted, the practice room is where competition is learned and refined.
