Title I & LAP Schools

Title I and LAP Schools
The schools listed below have been designated as Title I and LAP (Learning Assistance Program) eligible and receive additional financial support to help children who are in need of extra academic assistance.
Title I, Part A is a federal program that serves the unique needs of children—kindergarten to Grade 12—who struggle to learn. Title I programs and services provide customized instruction and curricula that helps these students meet academic standards and take an active, engaged interest in what they learn and can do. Title I programs build equity of opportunity for children whose struggles often keep them on the academic sidelines.
LAP programs serve eligible students who need academic support for reading, writing, and math, or who need graduation assistance at the high school. With special emphasis on literacy in the early grades, schools use state LAP funds to deliver supplemental services to give students a strong academic start.
