High School Artists Honored

Several Kennewick students earned honors in this year's ESD 123 Regional High School Art Exhibit, including a Kamiakin High student who won a special award voted on by the public.

Margot Massey, a sophomore at Kamiakin, earned the first-ever People's Choice Award for the piece, "Conscience." Margot also won a Judge's Choice Award for "Conscience," alongside Kamiakin classmate Morgan Madder, who won a Judge's Choice Award for the piece, "Dr. Strange."

Judge's Choice winners will move onto the state competition in May, coordinated by the state Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Three Kamiakin High School students also were awarded $2,000 scholarships by the faculty at Central Washington University, including Morgan Madder, Kaylee Memmott and Aiyana Tejeda. The students are all juniors.
