Career & College
A military career
If your plans after graduation include joining the military, you'll want to take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test. The ASVAB is a timed assessment that scores you in four areas: arithmetic reasoning, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension and mathematics knowledge. Your scores in these areas will count toward your AFQT (Armed Forces Qualifying Test) and will determine if you are qualified to enlist in the military. The higher your score, the more likely you are to receive the specialty or job that you want.
Military Visits
Several times throughout the school year, military representatives will set up booths at each of the high schools during lunch hour. These visits are a great time to learn more about potential career paths in the military and decide if they are a good fit for your future.
