Learn Your Levy Facts

Kennewick School District will ask voters to consider renewing two replacement levies on Feb 8 – an
Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Levy and a Technology Levy. The current levies, which voters approved in 2018, expire in 2022.
The replacement levies will provide funding for schools through 2026. These are not new taxes.

What does the Technology Levy fund?

The replacement Technology Levy ensures that Kennewick School District can continue providing student and staff access to computer devices, software, support and training. The Technology Levy supports:

Local levies support programs and staffing not funded by the state.

The Educational Programs & Operations (EP&O) Levy and state Local Effort Assistance (LEA), also known as levy equalization funding, provide more than 11% of the school district’s budget for educational programs and staffing. The levies bridge the gap in funding from the state.
