Air Force JROTC Earns Top Rating

AFJROTC evaluation

Shout-out to our district's Air Force Junior ROTC program for earning a rating of "exceeds standards" during the most recent unit evaluation.
That's the highest rating possible!

Two students also earned individual top performer awards: Cadet 1st Lt. Ryan Meaders from Kennewick High School and 1st Lt. Caleb Combs from Southridge High School.

Retired Col. Ben Young was the inspector.

The JROTC unit, led by Lt. Col. Curt Wichers and Chief Master Sgt. Lisa Rainey, is based at Kennewick High and draws students from Kennewick High School, Kamiakin High School and Southridge High School. This year, it has 66 student cadets.

In the program, cadets learn basic military skills, Air Force history and develop leadership skills, confidence, teamwork, discipline and more.
