Focusing on Summer Learning

A lot of learning is happening this summer in the Kennewick School District!

More than 3,000 students are participating in summer school programs this year, from preschoolers through high schoolers. They're supported by more than 300 staff members, including teachers, paraeducators, office employees and more.

Our summer school programs aim to provide engaging, hands-on STEAM learning for students in preschool through eighth grade. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, the arts and math.

For high schoolers, summer school offers the chance for credit recovery, extra help with math and enrichment activities. At Tri-Tech Skills Center, for example, students get a taste of everything from culinary arts to auto body technology and detailing through the Tri-Tech Summer Academy.
