Free Meals & P-EBT Update

Students will continue to receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2023-24 school year, and families will be receiving a Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) card(s) worth $120 in the mail from the state this summer.

KSD currently provides the opportunity for all students to receive free meals this school year regardless of family income as part of the federally-funded Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Our district qualifies for CEP by having high-poverty schools.

Because the district qualifies CEP, families with students attending schools that provided meals during the 2022-23 school year, will receive a letter from the state in the mail, along with one pre-loaded Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) card(s) for $120 per student this summer. The letter will include information for families who wish to decline P-EBT benefits. Funds cannot be gifted or donated. 

All KSD families will receive a P-EBT card(s) for $120 regardless of income unless the student attends a school that does not offer meals. These schools are Endeavor High School, Keewaydin Discovery Center, and Mid-Columbia Partnership.

KSD does not have information about when funds will be added to the P-EBT cards and recommends signing up for text message alerts to receive P-EBT updates from the state. Sign up here: https://www.textpebt.dshs.wa.gov/ 

If your family has received a P-EBT card in the past, you will receive a letter and existing P-EBT cards will be re-loaded with funds. If you do not have your P-EBT cards anymore, you can call the P-EBT Contact Center at 1-833-518-0282.

When will the P-EBT Card be mailed?
