Free Summer Meals for Children

The Kennewick School District will provide free grab-n-go bags filled with breakfast and lunch to any child age 18 and younger this summer through the USDA Summer Food Program for Children. Please note that the meal distribution schedule changes after summer school ends. Pre-ordering is not required. Families may pick up meals outside at any of the school sites.

During Summer School: June 21 – July 15 (closed July 5)

Daily grab-n-go meals will be provided Monday through Wednesday and four-day meal kits for home preparation will be available on Thursdays from the locations and times listed below. (The four-day meal kits won’t be served at the high school and Tri-Tech sites on Thursdays, instead single-serve breakfasts and lunches will be available at those sites on that day).

Please note that the high school sites and Tri-Tech Skills Center have different schedules.

Students attending the YMCA program in the afternoons will need to bring a ready-to-eat packed lunch from home on Thursdays and Fridays.

After Summer School: July 19 – Aug. 18

Seven-day meal kits for home preparation will be available from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at Chinook, Desert Hills, Highlands and Horse Heaven Hills middle schools only. Park Middle School will be undergoing kitchen work after the summer school session and won’t serve the seven-day meal kits.
