Gesa High School Credit Union Program Earns Endorsement

Gesa's High School Credit Union Program has become the first in the state to earn a Financial Sector Career Launch endorsement through Career Connect Washington.

The endorsement means that students who complete an internship of at least one year through the program will receive a Financial Sector Career Launch certification, showing that they're ready to be hired for entry-level positions in the financial industry.

The endorsement was celebrated on Friday, Nov. 4 at Educational Service District 123 in Pasco.

Gesa started its High School Credit Union program in 2000, and it now includes 12 student-operated high school branches around the state, including at Kamiakin, Kennewick and Southridge high schools. Through the program, students receive hands-on, real-life financial industry experience.
