Kamiakin Student Artist Honored for Poster

Wow, what an accomplishment!

Kamiakin High School senior Angersson Basabe won first place in Tri-Cities LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens) Council's Cesar Chavez & Dolores Huerta Student Poster Art Contest. Chavez and Huerta co-founded the National Farm Workers Association and fought for farm workers' rights.

Angersson's poster, which shows Chavez and Huerta holding a group of farm workers in their hands, was made using Prismacolor markers, Prismacolor pencils, white gel pen and Sharpie.

Angersson was to be honored on Saturday, April 16 at Columbia Basin College along with other poster contest winners. His art teacher is Leah Kennedy.
