Kennewick Students Eligible to Receive Free Meals for 2022-23 School Year
Every Kennewick School District student is eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2022-23 school year due to recent changes made to the federally-funded program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Previously, individual schools were determined to be eligible through their free and reduced-price meal percentage. This year, the entire district is qualified based on the overall percentage.
Although there is no application for free meals, the district does send out the Family Income Survey. This form is sent to many of our families in the fall and collects household income information so that Kennewick School District is eligible to receive state funding for important educational programs that our students are entitled to. If your family receives this form, we encourage you to fill it out and return it as soon as possible.
Please note that the Community Eligibility Program allows for one complete meal for each student. This means that if a student brings their lunch from home and wants milk or a second breakfast or lunch, the student’s account will be charged according to the 2022-23 a la carte pricing.
Kennewick School District is excited to offer no-cost meals to all students and appreciates your help.
