Making Connections at Fuerza Elementary

Alfredo Arroyo at Fuerza Elementary

We spotted some serious learning – and fun – in action at Fuerza Elementary. Fourth-graders in Alfredo Arroyo's class were reading about and discussing landforms and Washington's geography.

They were engaged and making connections to their daily life.

Mr. Arroyo has been working in our district since 2015. He started as a bilingual paraeducator at Highlands Middle School, did his student teaching at Hawthorne Elementary School and taught at Park Middle School and Westgate Elementary before moving to Fuerza.

"I appreciate the challenge of providing rigor in a unique way. Teaching at KSD has given me the opportunity to work with a diverse student and family community. I love to see students make progress academically, behaviorally, and socially."
