Meet Our 2021 Community Partner of the Year
Every year, the Kennewick School District honors a Community Partner of the Year for their contribution to our students, families and staff.
This year, it was an easy choice to select YMCA of the Greater Tri-Cities.
The organization has stepped up for our district and our community in a big way.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the YMCA provided before- and after-school care at multiple school sites throughout our district. But when our school buildings had to temporarily close because of the pandemic, the YMCA turned on a dime and started providing full-day care for the children of essential workers.
And with every change – from remote learning, to hybrid learning, to a return to full-time, in-person instruction – the YMCA has been right there, making it work.
The organization has been a partner in every sense of the word, and we’re grateful.
In addition to providing childcare, the YMCA also operates two preschools, runs an outreach center in Pasco, and offers a youth sports program that teaches so many kids about the joys of athletics. The YMCA's impact in our community is deep and far-reaching.
We’re proud to name the YMCA of the Greater Tri-Cities as our Community Partner of the Year!
