Salmon Summit 2023

Fourth grade students from all over KSD attended the Benton Conservation District's Annual Salmon Summit. The project concluded with students releasing fish into the Columbia River after raising them in a classroom.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about the salmon's life cycle from beginning to end, as well as the importance of our rivers, and even to learn about history and geography. Jillian Alfaro, teacher at Sage Crest Elementary, explains, "The Salmon Summit is a culmination, it's like a celebration of months of learning about salmon
