Bon Appétit! Tri-Tech Students Face Off in Soup Competition
For students in Tri-Tech Skills Center's Culinary Arts programs, the study of stocks and soups culminated on Friday, Oct. 29 in a soup competition, complete with guest judges from around the community.
Entries ranged from butternut squash soup to chicken noodle soup, birria and mulligatawny.
Ultimately, the team of Maysi Marvin, Eva Peppard, Jeremy Smitha and Amy Worlund won the morning session with their take on ramen.
And the team of Jaime Renteria and Rose Cossey won the afternoon session with their chicken and rice soup.
Both winning teams will now go on to compete Nov. 6 in the Beggars Banquet, a community soup competition that serves as a fundraiser for Safe Harbor Support Center and My Friends Place.
