Preview HIV/AIDS and Growth & Development Curriculum (Grades 4-5) and Comprehensive Sexual Health Education (Grades 6-12)

School nursing staff and health educators will provide a HIV/AIDS and Growth & Development Curriculum Parent/Guardian Preview for grades 4 and 5. Middle school and high school health teachers will provide information on lessons related to comprehensive sexual health.
 
Presentations will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the administration center located at 1000 W. 4th Ave., Kennewick. Families will be able to review instructional materials, answer questions and review parent opt-out processes.  
 
Presentations for Parents and Guardians of 5th Grade Boys and Girls:
5:30 to 6:20 p.m. - Growth and Development (separate boys and girls curriculum preview presentations) 
6:30 to 7:20 p.m. - HIV/AIDS (both boys and girls)

Presentation for Parents and Guardians of 4th Grade Girls Only: 
Parents/guardians of girls in grade 4 will have the opportunity to view the grade 4 growth and development instructional materials on the same evening. Fourth grade boys will not have a preview. Boys will have a hygiene lesson when the girls have growth and development.
