 School Board Members

Dawn Adams

Dawn Adams
President

Dawn was originally appointed to the Board in May of 2001 and was elected to her first full term in office in November that year. She was re-elected to another four-year term in November of 2005. Dawn cites a desire to give back to her community and pursue volunteerism activities impacting kids in a positive way as the main reasons for her seeking the school board position. Dawn embraces education as a core value. "My objective is to understand and represent the diverse needs of the constituents of our community, and respond through the District by providing opportunities for each child to advance academically to his/her potential," adds Dawn. Dawn is no stranger to the Kennewick School District. A native of Kennewick, her father worked for thirty years in the district, and Dawn attended Kennewick schools before moving on to earn her BA in business administration/information systems, and an MS in computer science from Washington State University. Dawn recently joined Parsons as a Senior Program Director working out of the Richland Office, after having worked at Hanford for 24 years. Dawn's husband is Erick En'Wezoh, and they have four sons (Derick, Jordan, Brandon, and Zachary.) Dawn's email address is NetDawn@aol.com. Her current term ends on December 21, 2009.

Prior to being elected to the board, he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical engineering from Washington State University, and his Masters in business administration from the University of Washington. Kathy White
Legislative Representative

Kathy was elected to the board in November, 2007. Wanting to give back for the fulfilling experience of teaching in Kennewick School District for seventeen years is the main reason Kathy sought and campaigned for this office. The best part of campaigning for her was meeting citizens of Kennewick and listening to their concerns about our schools. Community outreach and open communication with the public are important to Kathy. Before teaching, Kathy was a dental hygienist for twenty-three years, practicing in three states and Switzerland. Her dental hygiene diploma and BS are from Marquette University in Milwaukee WI and her MA in Health and Safety Studies was earned at California State University – Los Angeles. Mike and Kathy White have lived in the Tri-Cities since 1985 and Kennewick since 1994. Their daughter graduated from Kennewick High earning International Baccalaureate credits for advanced placement and a scholarship at Marquette. Since her retirement from KSD in 2004, Kathy picks up 'odd jobs' such as teaching Biology at Columbia Basin College, administering the NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress, "The Nation's Report Card") assessment and volunteering at "Sails Outlet for Safe Harbor Nursery." She also serves on the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction Panel to review curriculum to fulfill the mandates of the Healthy Youth Act. Kathy will be serving as the Legislative Representative of the board and looks forward to serving the employees of the district and citizens of Kennewick. Kathy's e-mail address is kacin@charter.net. Kathy's current term ends on December 31, 2011.
