Meet the School Board
Meet the School Board
Kennewick School District is governed by a publicly-elected school board. These five board members, called "school directors," hold office for four years at staggered terms until they are either re-elected or replaced by their successor. The board also has a non-voting student member who serves for a one-year term.
The primary responsibilities of the school board are:
• Hire, supervise and evaluate the superintendent
• Set the vision, mission and strategic goals for the district
• Review, revise and adopt policies
• Establish and oversee the budget
• Serve as community representatives
• Monitor the district’s progress towards its goals
