BUILDING GREAT SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY

At KSD, we want to build safe schools and engaging learning environments where students and educators can be their best. Guided by the Kennewick School District's Capital Facilities Plan 2018-2028, the Capital Projects Department works to meet the needs of our community by sustaining, planning and improving buildings and facilities in our district.

CURRENT PROJECTS:

Tri-Tech Skills Center Core Modernization
A $45.5 million state-funded project to modernize the original 66,000-square-foot section of the Tri-Tech facility built in 1981. The project includes infrastructure upgrades (electrical, plumbing, roofing, mechanical), energy and life safety improvements, and a reconfiguration of spaces to better support current programs and allow for potential future additions such as Pharmacy Tech and HVAC/Plumbing. Newer additions from 2007 and 2020 will not be impacted. During construction, which began in July 2025 and is expected to finish by the 2026–27 school year, seven programs will temporarily relocate to off-campus sites including the Fruitland Building and Columbia Basin College.
