Kennewick School District will offer 2025 summer school program to students attending schools that have been identified as needing additional supports for student achievement.

Elementary

  • Serving: Amistad and Eastgate elementary students (non-dual language). Amistad dual language students will attend summer school at Eastgate Elementary.

Dates: June 15 - July 16 (Monday - Thursday)
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Eligibility: Students attending Amistad, Cascade, Eastgate, Edison, Fuerza, Southgate, and Washington elementary schools who have been identified as benefiting from additional supports. Eligible students will receive an invitation from their school to participate.
Bus Transportation: Provided for students not in the walk zone for their attending school site.
Meals: Breakfast and lunch provided free. Breakfast: 8:30-9 a.m. Lunch: 12-12:30 p.m

Middle School

Sites: Highlands Middle School
Dates: June 15 - July 16 (Monday - Thursday)
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Eligibility: Highlands and Park Middle School students in incoming grades 6-8 identified as benefiting from additional supports. Eligible students will receive an invitation from their school to participate.
Bus Transportation: Provided for students not in the walk zone for their school.
Meals: Breakfast and lunch provided free. Breakfast: 7:30 - 8 a.m. Lunch 11 - 11:30 a.m.

Kamiakin, Kennewick and Southridge high schools, as well as students attending Endeavor, Legacy and Phoenix high schools, will be provided with credit retrieval opportunities that can be completed online or in-person at designated summer school sites. 
Dates: TBD (Monday - Thursday)
Hours: Session #1: 7:30 to 10 a.m., Session #2: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sites: Kamiakin, Kennewick and Southridge High Schools 
Eligibility: High school students in incoming grades 9-12, as well as students who may need to complete credit earning to graduate in 2024.
Bus Transportation: Provided for students not in the walk zone for their attending school site. Benton Franklin Transit also provides bus transportation that stops near the high schools.
Meals: Lunch provided free from 10 - 10:30 a.m.

Tri-Tech Skills Center

Sites: Tri-Tech Skills Center and Kamiakin High School
Dates: Summer classes are tentatively scheduled for June 15–July 2, 2026.
Hours: 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Eligibility: Incoming grades 9 through 12 from all area districts, home schools and private schools.
Bus Transportation: No bus transportation provided. Benton Franklin Transit routes stop by Tri-Tech Skills Center. Use 815 N. Kellogg St., Kennewick as the destination address to search for route information.
Meals: Breakfast and lunch provided free.

  • Tri-Tech Skills Center students at Kamiakin High School, Session #1: June 16 - July 2 and Session #2 July 7-22: Breakfast: 7:20 - 7:45 a.m. , Lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday-Friday

Registration: Registration opens May 5, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.  We will offer a variety of in-person classes, and students may sign up for one class only. All high school students (incoming freshmen through seniors) are eligible to apply. Please note: Students may not miss more than one full day in order to receive credit. For additional questions about the Summer Academy, please call (509) 222-7300.
