  • KSD has official trademarked logos and approved brand standards, including colors and mascots, for each school. Brand standards have been established to provide consistency and a professional image. Modifying an existing logo or creating a new logo is not permitted without going through the district branding process.

You can find logo use and authorization information and brand kits for the district and each school in our district Communications Guide under Branding/Logos.

  • School district employees may not use district facilities or resources, including employee time during work hours, for the purpose of assisting a campaign for the election of any person to any office or for the promotion of or opposition to any ballot proposition. As public employees, it is important to be aware of and adhere to guidelines for what is and is not acceptable in political campaigns.

This includes district levy and bond elections for funding. During election time, the district must ensure that it is following the School Election Guidelines as set forth by the Public Disclosure Commission (PDC). The communications department provides all messaging, information and materials regarding the ballot measure to staff, families and the community.

  • Kennewick School District’s Social Media Guidelines are intended to provide some basic guidance for school district staff managing school and district social media pages. When participating in social media in a professional capacity, staff members have professional and legal obligations, including following all school district policies and maintaining proper student boundaries. Of course, staff members should also use common sense and good judgment. These guidelines are not comprehensive and any questions should be sent to info@ksd.org

    Social Media Guidelines

The approved social media platforms for KSD are Instagram, Facebook and YouTube because these platforms can be archived ensuring that the district can meet public records laws. Any staff member wanting to create a new page for school or district-related content, needs to submit a request for approval.

    Social Media Page Requests

  • The school district uses a variety of vendors for branded promotional items, apparel, and signage. These vendors follow the district’s Brand Guide when using the logo and colors. Vendors will always need vector artwork for graphics in order to get a high-quality product. These files may be found in the Brand Kit for each school.

If you need a recommendation for a promotional product, signage or printer, the Communications department is happy to help. Contact communications@ksd.org
